Experience just how enjoyable going to a Doctor’s office can be. Dr. Tree (Theresa M. Neiss, D.C.), and Dr. Alli Totzke, DC, provide quality natural health care in a comfortable, relaxing environment at Montpelier Family Chiropractic. They spend personalized time with each patient at every visit working toward your goals.

As chiropractors, Dr. Tree and Dr. Totzke emphasize the importance of maintaining the integrity of the nervous system which includes posture, exercise, nutrition, chiropractic adjustments and a positive attitude. They take the time to make sure you understand the importance and what is necessary to function at your best.

They work with each and every person to create a personalized plan to help them achieve their individual health care goals. Patients goals can range from pain relief to optimal performance (often in golf or some other sport). Whatever your goals, Dr. Tree and Dr. Totzke will take the time to discuss them and determine the best way to reach them.

Initial or Relief Care
Most patients see a chiropractor for the first time because they have pain. Many have had that pain for a long time and wait until it is interfering with something they want to be able to do before trying to address it. Their goal is simply relief. We will work toward that goal by doing a thorough exam (if necessary additional tests may be ordered) and putting together a treatment plan to help them feel better as quickly as possible. This will generally mean frequent office visits which may include chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue manipulation, hot or cold therapy and/or electric stimulation. It may also include referral to other health practitioners. The number and frequency of treatments vary depending on age, condition, lifestyle and other factors. Some patients require repeated visits over weeks or months to reduce or eliminate their symptoms.

Corrective or Rehab Care
Once a patient is out of pain for the most part, it is time to make a decision. Do they stop getting Chiropractic Care and wait until they have pain again, or continue with care to correct the underlying problems and encourage more complete healing? Think about your teeth…you don’t stop brushing them after you have a cavity filled and the toothache goes away. Do you? The choice is up to each individual and depends upon their personal goals. If treatment is continued, the visit frequency will be reduced and exercises and home care will be taught and encouraged. Some patients who are more proactive about their health will start in this phase of care, not waiting for pain to start before they get their first Chiropractic treatment.

Wellness or Maintenance Care
It is what it sounds like. Once they have reached maximum improvement, health conscious patients opt to have periodic chiropractic “check-ups” to detect and correct little problems before they become serious. Just like getting your oil changed regularly, having your tires rotated and getting a tune-up on your car. Like most preventative measures, Chiropractic wellness care can help save time and money by helping you stay healthy.
